Despite the pandemic, Young Conservatives for Carbon Dividends had an action-packed fall semester, hosting nearly twenty events with young Republican groups across the country. As part of our “Unleash the Greatest Force on Earth” series, YCCD joined College Republican meetings, via Zoom, to brief attendees on the Baker-Shultz climate plan, discuss the power of American clean energy innovation, and make the strategic case for GOP climate leadership.

From the proud legacy of Republican leadership on the environment (including the accomplishments of Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush), to the economic logic of carbon pricing and the Baker-Shultz Plan, to the political imperative for the GOP to lead on climate, YCCD Managing Director Chris Johnson covered a wide-range of topics in his presentations.

From these discussions and the substantive Q&A that followed, it was clear how much young conservatives care about the environment and want to see the GOP to lead on solutions.

In this mission, no Republican plan would better turbocharge the American innovative engine—and quickly address the climate problem—than carbon dividends. That’s why young conservative leaders across the country are lining up in support, and why business and thought leaders of all stripes continue to flock to the Baker-Shultz solution. 🇺🇸
