This week, YCCD appeared at a special conference hosted by the Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies at Indiana University. The school, which is a leader in the study of international affairs, is named in honor of former Representative Lee H. Hamilton and former Senator Richard Lugar.

The sixth conference on America's Role in the World featured a bipartisan slate of guest speakers, including former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, former National Security Advisor Stephen J. Hadley, former Directors of National Intelligence Dan Coats and Lt. Gen. James Clapper, Rohingya Burmese activist Wai Wai Nu and PBS Newshour anchor Judy Woodruff.

The conference also featured YCCD Founder and President Kiera O’Brien for a panel on “The Future of Climate Activism.” Kiera was joined by Katie Eder (Co-Founder of the Future Coalition) and Catherine Coleman Flowers (Founder of the Center for Rural Enterprise and Environmental Justice) in a conversation that was moderated by Janet McCabe (Director of the Environmental Resilience Institute at Indiana University).

Below is a video of the event and here is a coverage in the Indiana Environmental Reporter.
